Conclusion
So, how do you like your new friend? This may be the conclusion of this little book, but hopefully it's just the beginning of a way to better health for you. From the very start, we learned that DHA is essential for life. From before conception to the warm gestation in the womb, from the sucking in that first breath to taking that first step, from uttering the first word to reading the first book, from nursery school to high school and beyond, we need DHA.
We then went to the heart of the matter. The heart represents our very core, and indeed, it just as literally sustains our lives and represents our loves. Caring for the heart should be one of our highest priorities. Getting enough rest, dealing with stress, avoiding smoking, exercising regularly, eating right: these things help our hearts keep pumping. And part of eating right is including more meals with fish, rich sources of DHA.
We next examined the brain, the central computer that controls every other part of the body. DHA's role in its healthy structure and function can not be exaggerated. Not only is it vital for healthy minds, but it is also being used to effectively treat serious mental conditions. Finally, we stole a peek into a promising role of DHA in the fight against cancer. Many similar new health benefits are being explored, which we did not have space to consider, such as DHA's potential role in inflammatory conditions as arthritis, colitis, alleries, and psoriasis; diabetes, multiple sclerosis, bronchitis, and emphysema, to name just a few. The future promises to consolidate what we already know about how DHA benefits us, as well as introduce new ways it can help us towards better health.
Who could have guessed a fatty acid could be so important in so many ways?
